Sacraments & Prayers

WhatsApp Image 2025-10-22 at 19.40.51.jpeg

''The seven sacraments are extraordinary gifts of God. He wants to walk with us on our earthly journey and to share his life with us.''

Bishop Alan McGuckian S.J.

The seven sacraments are:

Baptism

Confirmation

Eucharist

Reconciliation

Anointing of the sick

Matrimony

Holy Orders

The sacraments often referred to as 'channels of grace'' comprise corporal elements familiar to us such as bread, wine, water, oil and words. As Bishop Alan says (above) they are ways in which God pours out on us his love, life and blessing upon us on our journey through this world.

On a practical note our Parish office is at hand to help you with such spiritual resources. Tel: (02825) 885220 or Email: carnlough@downandconnor.org

Prayers:

Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done,
on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of death.

Amen.

Glory be to the Father,
and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning,
is now,
and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.
